Hello Rotem. Thanks for the links. I was aware that HP has a supported version of ESXi with the correct drivers, however the Enterprise I work for does not allow the use of vendor specific ESXi installs which is why we needed to insert just the specific driver required.

Hi, after experiencing this for a few days I found the answer on VMware KB:

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2006812

Our appliance worked perfectly for months - it was only after we moved all our VM's to a new SAN did we start to get the VCSA appliance server stopping continuously.

I *think* the logs got full because our move involved a lot of Vmotion and clone jobs....

Phil,

Did you ever figure out this error? I've redeployed the appliance five times now. Every single time I get "Cleaning session lock table: failed." It doesn't matter if I set the networking and timezone before hand or not. I'm at a loss...

I have been trying to setup vCSA and run into similar issues as you report. The management interface is one big boatload of features which don't work. What surprises me is how fragile the whole thing really is considering that it is an appliance under VMware's full control and should work as what else, an an appliance! How is that this company which produces rock solid ESX/ESXi not able to produce better management tools?

I am going to have to throw this appliance out and restart. I plan on doing everything by the book and hope it works the second time!

I guessed and found a solution.
do a 'cd /opt/db2/current/bin'
then 'db2'

No errors. Hopefully it will now use less memory.

I'm getting the error
'An error occurred while accessing the directory "/root". I'm also a unix n00b. I guessing the account db2inst1 does not have the necessary rights on "/root", but have no idea how I correct this. Can you provide any info?
